Once Human 2.1.3: My Starfall Inversion Field Notes

Once Human Version 2.1.3 brings a thrilling Starfall Inversion upgrade, V AI chat, fresh Wish Machine pools, rewards, and valuable quality-of-life improvements.

I still remember the night Version 2.1.3 landed in Once Human. The maintenance window opened at 4:00 PM PT on September 10 and was expected to last about two hours, so I spent the downtime sorting my storage, reading the patch notes, and planning a route through the wilderness. Looking back from 2026, that patch still feels like one of the busiest nights I have had in the game: a Starfall Inversion upgrade, a chatty AI named V, new Wish Machine prize pools, and a long list of quality-of-life changes that touched nearly every part of my base, backpack, and daily routine.

The Starfall Inversion Gets Sharper

I queued the download early. The update size was roughly 1.48 GB on PC launchers, 77 MB on the PC client, 220 MB on Android, and 213 MB on iOS, and I made sure to use Wi-Fi because the actual size could differ. The Steam note was the one that caught my eye: if the update was delayed there, I could launch the game without downloading content, and the 1.48 GB patch would download and apply inside the client. After updating, an additional 2.1 GB download might still be required, so I cleared extra space before the maintenance ended.

The headline change for me was the gameplay upgrade to Starfall Inversion. During an inversion, high-altitude Elite Deviants can now randomly spawn in the wilderness. My squad and I chased one across a ridge, and the surprise rewards made the detour worthwhile. This applies to scenarios with the Starfall Inversion tag in regular mode, and the same event energy feeds into Once Human: RaidZone as well. After the maintenance, every player received Starchrom x1,000, Mitsuko's Mark x100, Starwish Token x300, and Detoxident x3. I claimed mine immediately and put the Starchrom toward a blueprint I had been eyeing.

V, Wish Machine, and the Astral Nexus

The World chat channel also became livelier because V arrived. If I had a question or just wanted someone to talk to, I could @V in the World chat channel and start a conversation. It sounds small, but between resource runs, having an AI assistant answer questions in chat made the world feel less empty. This feature applies to regular mode.

After the September 10, 2025 update, three new Wish Machine prize pools were available for three weeks. Frost Abyss included the Legendary weapon blueprint Abyss Glance. Doom Hunter included the Legendary weapon blueprint Doombringer. Frost Threader included the Legendary gear blueprints Covert Walker Shirt, Blackstone Gloves, Blackstone Pants, and Blackstone Mask. I split my pulls between Frost Abyss and Frost Threader because I wanted both a flashy weapon and a coherent gear set.

Then there was Lightforge Loot Crate: Astral Nexus, available for a limited time after the same update. The crate included the Astral Leap fashion set at Legendary rarity, the Shadow Dash weapon skin at Legendary rarity, and the Aether Seat furniture formula as an Epic Collection item. The tagline asked, What has made you lighter than flesh and bone? and the answer, for me, was the Aether Seat. It is an interactive furniture item: sit on it and switch between Excited or Depressed moods. I placed mine on a floating platform and spent far too long cycling the animations while my teammates waited.

Cozy Autumn and Star Power

On September 17 at 6:00 AM server time, the Sunlit Hearth furniture pack arrived. The Epic pack carried the line Warmth flows, and time gently soothes the heart, and it was exactly the kind of cozy autumn upgrade my base needed. Some Sunlit Hearth furniture formulas can be dyed at the Designer's Workstation, which let me match the pack to my existing wood and stone palette. The first week had a 36% discount until September 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM PT, and I checked it through Shop > Territory > Furniture.

The Rising Nova Set also landed as a Rare outfit. The description promised The future is here. The superstar is coming, and the set delivered a fashionable, comfortable fit with plenty of star power. It had a 34% first-week discount until September 24, 2025 at 3:00 PM PT through Shop > Character > Set. Small Gift Boxes also made a surprise return, so I checked the Shop whenever I passed through my territory.

Class Tuning and Territory Relief

The class system changes were the ones that altered my daily loop the most. As a part-time Gardener, I loved that Greenhouse Cores can now operate on any water resource, including Boiled Water and Purified Water, and can be connected to pipes for automation. The Gardener starting items changed too: after selecting the class, I could choose Portable Planter Box - The Scorcher, Portable Planter Box - Agent, or Portable Planter Box - Digger, and I also received a Portable Planter Box. Seed breeding became much less tedious because the box can breed seeds of a single type in bulk, and fruit seeds can now be bred as well. Bulk disassembly at the Disassembly Bench now shows a second confirmation window if my Backpack contains biomechanical parts, which saved me from a costly misclick. The Gardener's flower grafting also received an appearance pass.

My Chef friends were equally busy. Unlocked Creative Cooking recipes of a single type can be cooked in bulk, with Chefosaurus Rex handling production. Unlocked Gourmet Atlas recipes can be crafted immediately if conditions are met. Dish bonus attribute values are now highlighted so the final numbers stand out. A new Memetic formula, Fruit Soda, lets any fruit make soda with its ingredient effects, while the Blueberry Soda and Orange Soda formulas were removed and already-crafted items were unaffected. The ingredient sanity changes were a hot topic: Apple now restores 1% Sanity per second instead of reducing gathering stamina cost by 5%; Goat Milk now restores 3% Sanity per second with Dish Durability -10%; and Deviated Mushroom now restores 3% Sanity per second with non-crop ingredient effect duration -50%. I tested a fruit soda during a fight and appreciated the continuous recovery.

Beastmaster players got smoother summon behavior. Animals are now automatically recalled when I ride a vehicle, their Animal Details panel shows habits and preferences, and bears, wolves, and other large animals no longer obstruct bullets in PvE. That last change made my wolf companion feel less like a wall and more like a partner.

Territory relocation was another quiet victory. The system no longer strictly checks whether every foundation touches the ground; it uses the foundation closest to the ground as the support point and adjusts the entire structure. I moved my base onto a slope that used to reject placement, then manually adjusted the structure to fit. Outdoor facilities are no longer removed during relocation. They adjust to the new terrain elevation, and if the new location is in a no-build zone, they are dismantled and materials are refunded. The new terrain can change water flow and resource availability, so I rechecked my facilities after the move. In The Way of Winter, territory protection was also optimized: I no longer die from extreme weather inside my territory, at a campsite, or in a neutral zone.

RaidZone, Permanent Servers, and the Small Stuff

In Once Human: RaidZone, the team optimized detection for weapon fire rate, vehicle attack range, and DMG to protect fairness. Mining Workshops appeared for ore extraction, powered by Portable Mixed Fuel and boosted by Realm Crate Access Cards. The Rocket Launcher Incendiary Warhead fire field now lasts until burning ends. Defensive structures such as the High Wall and High Wall With Door gained regular maintenance costs, and several defensive pieces gained reinforcement costs. Unoccupied territory rules became clearer: fruits can be harvested from Planter Boxes, food from Plates, weapons from Weapon Racks, fish from Fish Tanks, resources from Specimen Racks, ammunition from Turrets, and doors and windows can be opened or closed. Commission rules now allow up to three tasks per day, refresh at midnight server time, and keep unclaimed rewards available the next day. The blackout screen now shows who knocked me down and killed me, with weapon, item, Deviation, or defensive facility details and distance, plus better reporting tools.

Permanent servers ended World merges after the update. Sign-up cooldown for permanent servers and servers in settlement phase starts at 12 hours and grows incrementally with each sign-up within one natural month, then resets on the first day of each month at UTC+8.

Backpack capacity increased to 160 slots, and the fashion Special Backpack reached 2,500 slots. The Shop display window now uses my character model by default, and a toggle for customized recommendations was added. Female characters received a new walking animation, idle characters gained a basic facial expression, and eyelashes were optimized. New issuable items included animal hides and Specialization Cleaner, with an issuance limit to prevent overloaded Backpacks. The Build interface hotkeys were reorganized, the G key changed from Structure Upgrade to Structure Replacement with sticker and skin replacement, and categories gained icons and filters. Three new fruit tree crops arrived: Apple, Banana, and Coconut. They have a long germination period but can be harvested continuously after maturing without replanting. Crafting can now use materials directly from the Water Tank. Eternaland gained Island and World chat channels, and mobile players can share Eternaland with friends. Redemption shops were integrated, a token list was added, and PC players got Left ALT + P for quick reports. Mobile players can auto-pick Stardust Flowers by category and rarity, Spacetime can identify Stardust Flowers, and the hotbar and equipment slots gained a memory function.

The bug fix list was long enough to fill a separate journal. Storage Crate skins, close-range wallpaper disappearance, Stellar Resonance loot crate placement, permanent server construction overlap, Airplane Ancient One balloon textures, animal hide armor effects, terrain stuck spots, the Manibus Fishing Shop tag, Force recovery, underwater weapons, Molotovs through walls, fashion clipping, Nightmare Bringer after Aero Leap, Gilded Summer Set model sizes, Ruined Lumina hair on Low graphics, Void Wings audio, Quantum Break aiming, Echo Stone lag, and an occasional ladder teleport issue all received attention. By the time I logged off, my base was cozier, my backpack was bigger, and my squad had a new route through the Starfall. Version 2.1.3 was not just a patch; it was a long night of small victories.
